Nice To Meet You.

Put Your Funny Where Your Mouth Is

The Laugh Supper was founded in 2014 and has quickly become one DFW’s favorite improv groups. Many of the performers in TLS have been performing live improv and sketch comedy for almost a decade, and several make their living acting and performing in Dallas. Our shows incorporate music, sound effects, stage lighting and dancing to create an immersive improv experience. We think you’ll like us.

FAQ

A lot of people have likened a TLS show to being in the audience at “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, a comparison we both welcome and embrace. Our shows are perfect for both people who’ve never seen improv and hardcore comedy junkies.

We professionally produce our show with lights, music and occasionally confetti cannons, and it’s like seeing an interactive Broadway show. We rely on audience participation to create the bulk of our scenes, but don’t worry if you’re shy – we never force audience members to come on stage or pick on people. We believe comedy should be fun for everyone.

One thing we pride ourselves on is never going for cheap jokes – vulgar, dirty comedy is easy to do, but it’s low hanging fruit. We try to steer away from being dirty just for the sake of being dirty. With that being said, our mainstage performances are definitely geared towards adults.

If we had to assign ratings to our shows, our 8 PM shows would be PG (you could bring your grandmother, and one of our troupe member’s grandmother comes to our 8 PM shows and has a wonderful time!) and our late night shows lean towards PG-13. Our workshops, corporate and private events are acceptable for all ages.

We don’t hold regular auditions. When making the decision to add a member to our troupe, there are a variety of factors that we consider, and it is a very in-depth process. The best way to get on our radar is to attend our shows and workshops and connect with us after the show.

We currently enjoy in residence status with two venues: Contemporary Theatre of Dallas and Pocket Sandwich Theatre. The majority of our shows sell out, averaging 125 audience members per performance. If you’d like to partner with us as a venue, please email matt@laughsupper.com.

Meet The Crew
Matt Clark

Matt is a stage, film, and voice actor who is fortunate to have been introduced to improv as a force-sensitive youngling, performing competitively starting at age 12. His Padawan apprenticeship came under the guidance of The Guerrilla Comedy Troupe at Baylor University, where he continued his improvisation training while adding new abilities like filmed & live sketch production. Now an improv Jedi knight, he strives to save the galaxy from weekend boredom by showing off the energy and unpredictable fun of improvisational comedy.

Hannah Brake

Hannah is a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre (by way of Boston Conservatory), a Dallas-based actress and improv performer, and a Carol Burnett fanatic. If there were three things at which she could choose to be an expert, in no particular order, they would be: freestyle rapping, playing the fiddle, and dancing ballet. She hopes to one day achieve expertise in all three areas simultaneously, and in the meantime sticks to her other great love; nothing makes her happier than assisting large groups of people in belly-laughing.

Graham Michel

Graham Michel is a native of Dallas TX, a father of three and a holder of many fine and distinguished degrees. When he is not slaying it in improv, he’s killing it in sales, and looking for new theatrical opportunities. Graham is sure one day he will see a unicorn in the flesh and you cannot convince him otherwise.

Shelby Storrie

Shelby Storrie is delighted to reprise her role as “Shelby Storrie” in The Laugh Supper. Shelby has been making things up her whole life. It wasn’t till she joined an improv troupe at Kansas State University that she learned what she had was not a curse, but a beautiful gift. When not gallivanting across stages and making people laugh she works hard at The Dallas Zoo. Zookeeper by day; couch potato by night. She’s livin’ the high life.

Richard Ross

Richard Ross creates awesome photo and video content for brands and companies to help them become more awesome. He has extensive experience creating visual campaigns. He recently started creating hilarious vlogs on YouTube. Seriously, they’re great. You should check them out.

Kim Winnubst

Kim is a Dallas by way of Kansas by way of Boston stage actress, improv performer, and cutthroat Mario Kart player. She’s prone to giggle fits onstage but is convinced she keeps it together and no one can tell (they can). When not tearing it up with TLS, she tears up the courtroom as a litigator. A proud member of the Texas Bar and probably a bar near you, she feels most accomplished when she manages to keep a plant alive for more than a month and when she helps an audience get their giggle on (it’s, like, a close second to the plant parenting). At this point in her life, she finds great joy in listening to people attempt to pronounce her last name.

DeAndre Upshaw

DeAndre is an award-winning digital marketing strategist, cinematographer and improv performer who grew up forcing family and friends to perform in short films he wrote, directed, and produced. They weren’t very good, but will one day serve as the backdrop to his E! True Hollywood Story. When he’s not making audiences cackle, he runs a production company that creates photo & video experiences. He hopes to be a Power Ranger when he grows up.

Jimi Wallace

Jimi is an actor!

Clay Wheeler

Clay is an educator, actor, director and writer who hails from Plano, Texas. He’s tread the boards across DFW stages with myriad companies, including Shakespeare Dallas, Theatre Three, WaterTower Theatre, Stage West, Kitchen Dog Theater, Second Thought Theatre, Pegasus Theatre, and many others. Clay is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and is the Artistic Director of multiple “DFW Critics Forum Award” recipient Rite of Passage Theatre Company. His proudest moment was having a Houseguest quote-off with his hero, famed comedian Sinbad.

Jeff Wittekiend

Jeff is a DFW-area actor with 6 years of improv experience who has been fortunate enough to perform in a wide variety of roles on stages across the Metroplex. Favorites include Steve in Hope and Gravity at Circle Theatre and Crispin in The Heir Apparent at Stage West. He loves baseball, even though it clearly doesn’t love him.
